Liangzhu Culture – Jade Cong

As a symbol of ancient people’s prayers for warding off evil, the jade cong not only possesses aesthetic value but also carries a mysterious and sacred symbolic meaning. These precious artifacts serve not only as witnesses to time but also as bridges connecting us to ancient civilizations, allowing us to glimpse into the beliefs and lives of people from the past.

Jade Phoenix

This exquisite stone carving features jade phoenixes on both sides, crafted from natural yellow and red gradient stone, inspired by the jade phoenix from the Tomb of Lady Fu Hao. The phoenixes, with heads held high and wings spread, symbolize nobility, good fortune, and divine will, reflecting ancient reverence for the mythical bird. At the center, a natural rooster-eye stone is displayed, above which artist Changwei Lou carved an ancient coin inscribed with “Five Generations of Five Blessings,” symbolizing family prosperity. Unique animal patterns below the stone add artistic depth.

Through masterful craftsmanship, Mr. Lou captures the harmony between nature and art, blending history and tradition with a deep respect for Chinese culture.

Ancient Jade Pendants

In ancient China, people meticulously selected and wore jade pendants, considering them as protective talismans. These jade pendants are not only exquisite and unique in aesthetics but also embody the wearer’s hopeful expectations for personal safety and auspiciousness. By wearing ancient jade pendants, people believed in the power that could safeguard the wearer from malevolent forces, achieving a sense of peace and balance in body and mind. These ancient jade pendants are not just ornaments; they are precious symbols connecting ancient culture and beliefs.

“Every stone has its own world, narrating unique stories through its distinctive textures. An uncarved stone is just an ordinary object. Transforming these stones into exquisite artworks through carving brings me the deepest joy.”
